Ananda Thama Hindole of village Anandwadi stays with the wife and 24 years son. His son is studying and totally dependent on family. Ananda is a landless and had no resources to earn. Before coming in contact with APT team he was dependent on daily wages earnings from the labour work available in the village. He and his wife had to face lot of difficulties to meet the both ends.
Janabai Goma Sambari is a widow of about 62 years from village Anandwadi of Karjt Taluka in Raigad district. She stays with her son, daughter-in-law and one grandson. Her husband passed away some 10 years back and since then she has been living with her son. Her son works at nearby hotel to support his family.
Waman Hari Vak, aged 70 years, is a resident of village Dhamni in Karjat block of Raigad district. Waman live his wife and 2 children who are handicapped. Waman is the mainstay for his family as his children are totally dependent on him. Waman is a landless person and was totally dependent on daily wages to manage his family.
Kunda Jaitu Sambri is a 65 year old widow from village Mograj, Post Aambiwali situated in Karjat Taluka. She is mother of three. After the death of Jaitu, her beloved husband and the backbone of the family, she found herself in great pain and helplessness with responsibility of 3 children and no way to feed them.
Pandharinath Mangal Bhala, age about 24 years is a resident of Mograj village in Karjat Taluka of Raigad district. He is educated up to 12th standard. Pandharinath stays with his wife and only earning member of his small family. Although he is educated, because of lack of awareness and opportunities in small village, he is dependant on daily wages earned from labour because he is landless. He used to do small jobs in nearby area to support his family.
Uma Janu Mengal is 60-year-old farmer from Parkhande village. Uma Tatya lives with his wife and two sons in joint family. Economically, Uma and the family depend on Uma’s son, who is small scale electrician. Uma Tatya has 2 acre of land which is usually used for paddy Cultivation. Farming provides the family sufficient amount of crop for a year and seed for next year.
